Lindsley Hall, a Democrat running for Congress in Michigan's 10th district, is a Detroit native, raised as the youngest of two siblings.
After studying Communications at the University of Michigan, she worked in non-profit fundraising for various organizations. Inspired by her passion for gardening and her love for her community, Lindsley, along with her husband, Reed, initiated projects like building community gardens to support neighborhood food access.
Her professional career aligned with her passion when she became the Director of Major Gifts at the food bank, the place where she spent weekends volunteering.
Lindsley's dedication to her community led her to run for office, as she realized the importance of ensuring families have security and access to adequate nourishment, especially during crises like the recent pandemic.
As a mother and concerned citizen, I'm running for Congress to address the gun violence epidemic in Detriot and District 10. I will work tirelessly to ensure our families are safe by providing education around gun violence prevention and advocating for legislation that supports both education and safety.
I believe that by providing accessible paths to security and resources for families, along with cultivating sustainability, we can work towards eliminating systematic racial disparities and improving outcomes for all in our community. Together, we can lift up parts of this country that have been historically ignored and radically change the face of District 10.
My years of experience working in state park conservatories has given me firsthand insight into the local challenges that we must overcome to protect our natural resources. I'm running for office because I believe that protecting the environment and ensuring sustainable access to food and nourishment are key components in taking care of the overall health of our community.
